How do I reopen an Item?

There are two methods for reopening completed items. All items can be reopened from the User Summary page, but only some can be reopened from the item's dashboard by "unauthenticating".


Note: Some items, like those listed below, are not reopened. That is, you can continue to edit and add to the item even though it is in a completed state.  See each item's article to learn more about the respective workflows:

Step 1 - Navigate to the User Summary page of the employee associated with the item you wish to reopen

 

1. Find the user on your Supervision Management Page, using the filters and search bar


2. Click on their name to visit their User Summary Page





Step 2 - Locate the item you wish to reopen in the "Completed" table, located below the "Open" Table. Then, click Actions > Reopen






Unauthenticate (Formal, Differentiated, and NTPE Observations Only)


Step 1 - Navigate to the User Summary page of the employee associated with the item you wish to reopen

 

1. Find the user on your Supervision Management Page, using the filters and search bar


2. Click on their name to visit their User Summary Page




Step 2 - Locate the item you wish to reopen in the "Completed" table, located below the "Open" Table. Then, click on the observation to open it's Dashboard



Step 3 - On the item's dashboard, click "Unauthenticate" to reopen the item





Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)



Q: Why can't I reopen an item?

The following are reasons why an item cannot be reopened:

  • Walkthroughs, Anecdotal Notes, Rubrics are not reopened. That is, users can continue to open and add comments, where appropriate.  
  • All other items can only be reopened by the assigned evaluator or a district admin user.
  • Formal, Differentiated, and NTPE Observations can also be reopened by the assigned evaluator using "unauthenticate".
  • Completed 13 Forms can be edited by supervisors and district admin users.
